Founder & Lead Attorney
Attorney-at-Law | Specialist in Commercial and Corporate Law | Specialist in International Business Law | Certified Business Mediator | Arbitrator
Dr. Jens-Christian Posselt is a Hamburg attorney and specialist lawyer (Fachanwalt) in both Commercial and Corporate Law and International Business Law — a dual specialization that is rare in the German legal market and reflects the firm's unique positioning at the intersection of domestic and cross-border commercial practice.
Dr. Posselt has spent more than two decades building deep expertise in the legal and business relationship between Germany and China. His connection to Qingdao — a city with a distinctive shared history with Germany as a former German concession — is both personal and professional. He serves as an arbitrator at both the Qingdao Arbitration Commission and the Shanghai Arbitration Commission, making him one of the very few German attorneys with an active role in Chinese arbitration institutions.
He is a certified business mediator (Wirtschaftsmediator) and is recognized as an Honored Adviser by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT). He has long-standing connections to the Sino-German Eco-Park in Qingdao, a flagship project of Sino-German economic cooperation.
His practice covers the full spectrum of Sino-German commercial law: advising on company formation and corporate governance, drafting and negotiating commercial contracts in multiple languages, supporting joint ventures and strategic partnerships, and representing clients in dispute resolution proceedings. He combines rigorous legal analysis with a pragmatic, solution-focused approach that international clients find particularly valuable.
Dr. Posselt studied law in Germany and holds a doctorate in law. He is a member of the Hamburg Bar Association.
Attorney-at-Law
Attorney-at-Law | European Law | Public International Law
Laura Schneider joined JCP Rechtsanwälte with a focus on European law and public international law — areas of growing importance for businesses navigating the regulatory landscape of the European Union and international trade frameworks.
Her legal background encompasses both German law and comparative European legal systems, with particular expertise in EU regulatory compliance, cross-border disputes with a European dimension, and international law matters affecting commercial actors. Her proficiency in Finnish — an uncommon language skill among German attorneys — makes her a valuable resource for clients with interests in the Nordic and Baltic regions.
Laura Schneider advises on EU market access, regulatory compliance for international businesses operating within the EU, and cross-border legal questions where European or international law intersects with commercial practice. She works closely with Dr. Posselt on matters that combine domestic German law with European or international dimensions.
Of Counsel
Of Counsel | Chinese Law | Sino-German Commercial Law
Gaojun Cao is Of Counsel to JCP Rechtsanwälte, contributing deep expertise in Chinese law and an extensive professional network in China. His role is central to the firm's Sino-German practice: he bridges the legal and cultural gap between German and Chinese business environments in a way that few practitioners can.
With broad experience in Chinese commercial law, company law, contract law, and dispute resolution, Gaojun Cao advises on matters involving Chinese legal requirements — from the formation of Chinese-law entities to the interpretation of Chinese contractual provisions and the navigation of Chinese regulatory frameworks. He works in close cooperation with Dr. Posselt on cross-border mandates that require expertise in both German and Chinese law.
Gaojun Cao's deep familiarity with Chinese business culture and legal practice, combined with his command of the German legal environment, makes him an invaluable interlocutor for Chinese companies investing in Germany and for German companies with complex China-related legal questions.
